SWEP have been working to ensure we have measures in place to support our consumers and Practitioners as we navigate the challenges presenting with the COVID pandemic.
Wherever possible, compliance with SWEP normal processes should be adhered to. SWEP recognises that many organisations will not be operating within business as usual practice.
SWEP are implementing processes to ensure our consumers are not compromised and that we ensure continuity of supply for continence items where we can.
Effective immediately, we will be implementing the following practices in relation to the Continence Aids Program:
1. Annual Reviews - Consumers will not be requested to obtain an annual review until the COVID-19 measures are relaxed. Consumers will be able to access ongoing supply for the same items SWEP has previously supplied on a provisional basis until such time as normal practice can be resumed.
* Usual reassessment will occur when conditions allow
2. Existing SWEP Consumers requiring additional/change of products - We will still require a practitioner to submit an application for the change in product or additional product requested.
3. New consumers to SWEP - We will still require an application from a registered practitioner as per normal process.
Our contracted supplier Independence Australia is pro-actively looking at their capacity in terms of stock holdings and staffing to ensure any changes in demand can be met.
