ADVANCED - VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS

Workshop Information

This one day workshop is designed for Occupational Therapists who wish to further their knowledge and skills with regards to vehicle modifications for people with disabilities. This workshop will be presented by Tom Eley and Carolyn Unsworth.

This workshop will cover:

  • Overview of available technology and modifications for vehicles
  • Standards information including: Australian Design Rules for Vehicle Construction, and Australian Standards for Hoists and Ramps and Wheelchair and Wheelchair Occupant Tie-downs and Occupant Restraint Systems
  • VicRoads vehicle modification process
  • Details of the SWEP program and what the scheme will fund for drivers and passengers
  • Clinical reasoning and prescription process using client cases
  • Managing SWEP paperwork
  • Understanding your responsibilities and getting support

A range of powered wheelchairs and vehicles with modifications will be available to view and trial.

Cost: $365 (includes GST)

Date/time: Thursday 11th August 9.30am to 4.30pm (Registration from 9.15am)

Catering
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

 

CPD hours
By attending this workshop participants will be able to claim 6 hours towards their CPD requirements.

CQU reserves the right to cancel or postpone any workshop. In the circumstances where this is required, registration fees will be refunded in full. CQU bears no responsibility for any other costs incurred, including loss of income, travel or accommodation expenses.

If you are unable to attend a workshop after you have registered and paid, a full refund will be provided if CQU is notified in writing prior to the closing date (7 days prior to the scheduled workshop). Please note we are unable to provide a refund after the workshop closing date.
