Registration and Credentialing

The State-Wide Equipment Program (SWEP) is committed to the appropriate assessment and recommendation of assistive technology (AT) by suitably qualified and skilled AT Practitioners.

Based on an assessment of eligibility, experience, training and skill, SWEP assigns AT practitioners a green, amber or red credentialing level that reflects the level of increasingly complexity they can safely and effectively address within a specific AT category. All credentialing requests are measured against The Standard for your profession or area of practice.

In order to achieve this we have implemented the SWEP AT Practitioner Registration and Credentialing Framework (The Framework) as well as developed the standard for SWEP first registration, AT Practitioner upgrade, re-credentialing and initial assessment of AT Practitioner level for experienced clinicians (The Standard). This new framework was rolled out in July 2017.
