What's happening?
SWEP is excited to announce that the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) has chosen to partner with SWEP to provide a registration and credentialing service for all Occupational Therapists (OT's) currently providing services to the TAC.
Why do TAC want to partner with SWEP?
The TAC recognise the best practice approach SWEP takes towards registration and credentialing of AT practitioners, in order to ensure high quality services which supports the needs, goals and aspirations of consumers.
What does it mean for me?
This partnership will provide the opportunity for any SWEP registered and credentialed OT 's to provide services for the TAC now or in the future. TAC are only using SWEP for their registration and credentialing processes, all other components of providing an AT solution reside within the TAC system.
As part of this process, unless you advise us not to, SWEP will be sharing with the TAC information about your work location, contact details and credentialing levels to enable them to contact you and determine if you have the capacity to provide TAC services in your area.
How will my information be used?
The information provided to the TAC will be used for the same reason that SWEP uses it; that is to identify credentialing levels for different types of AT and to facilitate the matching of suitably qualified and skilled AT Practitioners with consumers.
How do I update my preferences or opt out of this partnership?
It is important to note that all SWEP registered OT 's have been automatically opted in at this point. Should you wish to opt out of sharing your information with the TAC or to indicate that you do not have the capacity to provide services for the TAC at this time, you can login to your registration profile and deselect TAC in the list of agencies. A guide on how to manage this information within your registration profile can be found within the New Portal Application Guide under the "Practitioner Organisation Details" section which begins on page 8 - https://swep.bhs.org.au/new-portal-application-guide.php
When will this take effect?
The TAC / SWEP partnership will take effect on 1st October. We encourage practitioners to update their preferences prior to this date, however you can change your preferences at any time.
Please note that all practitioners will be able to see these TAC options within their registration page however, at this point in time the option to share your information with the TAC is only applicable to OT's.
