SWEP Communique - Continence Aids Program supplier update

29 June 2020

The State-wide Equipment Program (SWEP) currently administers the Continence Aids Program for the Department of Health & Human Services for eligible State funded consumers. SWEP also provides continence services to NDIS participants and privately funded consumers.

SWEP has recently completed a robust tender procurement process as the current contract for supply of these items is due to end on 30 June 2020.

SWEP is pleased to announce after that after a rigorous tender process, Independence Australia has been re-appointed as the successful Supplier of continence products for the next two years. Independence Australia held the previous continence contract with SWEP and we look forward to continuing to work with them.

The new contract will commence from 1 July, and there will be little change for consumers who will continue to receive products through the same supplier, with a similar product range, as well as some new products.

Consistent with State funded continence program parameters, Practitioners may access the authorised range of non-disposable products in the catalogue for State funded consumers, with NDIS participants and self-funded consumers able to access the full range including disposable products. SWEP will have an updated Continence Catalogue loaded onto our website ready for 1 July.

Independence Australia will also have the new Continence product catalogue available on their website.

Any enquiries can be sent to swep@bhs.org.au
