Dear Practitioners
We wanted to provide you with an update on a backlog of home
modifications funding/applications that came about during Covid. We have been continuously working through the
back log and are pleased to advise that we have been able to progress many of
these but are still needing to finalise some applications between Mar 2022 - Mar
2023.
How You Can Help
If you have submitted a home modifications application prior
to March 2023, and an order has not been placed, please contact the team so
that we can ascertain any outstanding paperwork and progress the application.
Certificate of
Completion (CoC) & sign off once your application has been ordered
Our builders are typically self-employed or operate a small
business. It is therefore important to
pay them as quickly as possible, under seven-day trading terms. It is
important for you as the practitioner to ensure that once the home modification
works have been finalised that you and the consumer sign off on the Certificate
of Completion and return it to SWEP or the builder. Without this documentation
confirming your satisfaction with the works, we cannot pay the builder. In
order to avoid delays we suggest you book a time with the builder and consumer
on the last day of building works, so you can review and sign the CoC.
Home Modification
Manual
An update to our Home Modification Practitioner manual is
almost complete, which reflects changes to documentation required with home
mods applications. Our Practitioner Manuals
can be located on our website under Other Relevant
Documents.
We thank you for your time and consideration of the above
information. If you have any feedback or
queries, please email swep@gh.org.au
