Important Update: Changes to SWEP Application Process
Due to recent changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), SWEP is seeing an increase in demand for funding through our programs. This rise in applications may coincide with changes in NDIS eligibility, with some individuals no longer qualifying for specific NDIS supports.
After consulting with the Department of Health, we would like to inform you that, effective 1 January 2025, if your consumer is a participant in the NDIS but is ineligible for certain equipment/products, you will be required to provide evidence of their ineligibility from NDIS. This documentation must be attached to your application upon submission.
This new process will apply to all applications submitted on or after January 1, 2025.
