Dear Practitioner,
We have noticed an increase in applications for lymphoedema garments intended for post-operative use. With regard to this, we would like to clarify the relevant responsibilities and guidelines.
Public hospitals and extended care centers are responsible for providing
- compression garments related to a patient's hospital admission.
- compression garments requested before admission but intended for post-operative use.
Under the Victorian Aids & Equipment Program Guidelines once a consumer has been discharged, and more than 30 days have passed, they may then apply for SWEP funding.
Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to contact us via email at swep@gh.org.au
