Thank you for your patience during the recent closure of the VA&EP portal. We appreciate your understanding while we have undertaken essential updates, with the portal re-opening at 09:00am July 1, 2026.
Aligning with the portal upgrade, the Victorian Government has now released the updated VA&EP Guidelines. This document is now available on both the Department of Health (DH) website and the SWEP website.
We encourage you to review the updated guidelines to familiarise yourself with any changes that may affect your clients and your prescribing practice.
You will notice updates to the portal application process, including streamlined, user-friendly changes, improved usability and enhancements, and we continue to welcome your ongoing input.
Your home page will look a little different, but the same options are available to you. The application format overall is the same, but some changes have been made. We have removed unnecessary wording and questions, added clarifying statements, items moved to a more logical sequence, and a new declaration has been added for you to review and agree to prior to submission of your application.
To ensure you have the correct content for your application, even if it's a draft, you must select the category on the application tab, and select a date of birth on the Consumer Details and save prior to progressing.
Please note with applications created prior to 1 July, when you view them java script errors may appear at the top in red. These will disappear and you can then view the application.
