From Friday 10^th August, 2018 at 5pm you will no longer be able to edit, attach or submit applications in the old SWEP portal.  A read only version of your applications will still be accessible.

We have collated the data for June 2018 and presented the achievements of each program for this month. Every month we will provide information about each program.

Feedback from the Chief Allied Health Officer re: Failed Scripts and New Prescription Forms
 
Dear Prescribers,

Thank you for your feedback over the last week regarding my communique on Prescriber accountabilities and failed scripts, as well as your feedback regarding the new prescription forms.
SWEP remains committed to continuous improvement based on the experiences and feedback of our Prescribers. Please see below for an update and the immediate changes we have made.

As a result of your feedback information contained in an application has been reviewed and we have commenced making improvements.

We appreciate that that it is a new layout and it may take some time to get used to the format.  During the first couple of days we have identified a couple of technical issues that SWEP are working to resolve. Once these are rectified, we will send our further communiques.

New Database
SWEP have been communicating regularly with our prescribers about our new database/Prescriber portal, which will go live Monday 2nd July 2018. The new service will allow us to streamline our processes and create a more user friendly Portal for our Prescribers and staff.

All Prescribers will receive an automated email on Sunday 1st July 2018. This will include your new user name and password to enable you to log into the new Portal from Monday 2nd July for all new applications.

As previously communicated SWEP is launching a new database commencing 2nd July 2018.  However, the transition involves a high volume of data migration, from multiple sources. There will be a short-term, but unavoidable disruption to our systems. We will keep the consequent disruption to our services to a minimum.

As part of the directive from DHHS on the 28th of May 2018 any equipment that is held in the reissue pool for the state based scheme may only be reserved for people who are eligible for services through the Victorian Aids and Equipment Program (VA&EP).

The reissue pool also holds items purchased through the NDIS and is available to be reserved for NDIS participants

SWEP are pleased to advise we have added further endorsed education programs to our website.  These programs can assist with your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).  You can also apply these with the approved points when applying to re credential or upgrade your Prescriber Levels with SWEP. NDIA Transition - Referring new clients to the NDIA from areas transition date.

Service providers should refer all new (state) clients to the NDIA from area transition commencement date.

SWEP have recently received advice from the Department of Health and Human Services advising of the following:

• Service Providers delivering services under the Victorian Aids and Equipment Program (VA&EP) are to refer clients with new, waitlisted, awaiting top up or incomplete applications for subsidised items to the NDIA from area commencement date where the applicant:

          -lives in an area that has commenced transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

          -is likely to be eligible for the NDIS

• Eligible Victorians living in areas yet to commence transitioning to the NDIS can continue to access the Victorian Aids and Equipment Program.

• Service providers of the Victorian Aids and Equipment Program can continue to consider requests for urgent repairs of equipment from clients in areas that have commenced transition, where the client does not yet have an approved NDIS plan.

SWEP will be launching a new database on 2^nd July 2018.  The new database will provide a user friendly experience for all users. We need your help to make sure the data we migrate to the new system is as accurate as possible.

Please read this communique carefully as there are some important actions you need to take to ensure your details and any draft applications you have are not missed. 

The SWEP reissue database now has exclusive NDIS funded equipment that prescribers can reserve for their clients who are participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The asset numbers relating to these items commence with the letter 'N' and when selecting the asset prescribers will be alerted that the item can only be reserved for NDIS participants. 

Due to a fire at Heartway's Taiwan warehouse in April 2018, we have been advised Heartway will not be supplying any parts until after September 2018 which will impact on repairs currently being undertaken or future repairs of consumers' equipment.

SWEP's contracted repairer, Chemtronics, has some parts from equipment held for reissue that can be reused. SWEP and/or Chemtronics will advise clients affected at the time of any likely delays.
