SWEP Prescriber Communique - Home Modifications Update
30 August 2017
Dear Prescribers,
I am pleased to announce that the revised
home modification service is in the final stages of testing and we are on the
verge of releasing the model. We
anticipated the release would be this month, however we have decided to
postpone the release to next month to finalise adjustments to the online
application. SWEP acknowledges the
postponement may be an inconvenience for some Prescribers, however our preference
is to deliver the best service possible and we believe a short delay will
achieve this.

SWEP Prescriber Communique - End of Financial Year
7 July 2017
As a follow on to
our communique last week, SWEP received a significant allocation of funding in
June that need to be fully expended by Friday 30th June. As per my
previous communique, the way we are allocating the funding may initially seem
confusing and not appear to align with our Priority of Access Guidelines, but it is important that you understand that the funding has been
targeted specifically at those people over the age of 65 years who had been on
our waiting list for specific categories of equipment. It is important to note
that we were unable to target waitlist applications for clients who required
high cost home modifications, or where the supplier was unknown.
SWEP Prescriber Communique - EOFY 2017
29 June 2017
This communique is to advise you that SWEP has just received a
non-recurrent allocation of funding today that will need to be spent by the end
of the financial year (this Friday) in order to meet both our funding body and
BHS,s acquittal requirements.

SWEP Prescriber Communique - Home Modifications Update June 2017
23 June 2017
Dear
Prescribers,
SWEP
is pleased to announce that the new Home Modification model will commence this
August. The new model is founded on a framework of Builders and Tradespeople
that make up a panel of approved suppliers throughout Victoria. The Panel will
provide Prescribers with the opportunity to identify which Builders and
Tradespeople operate in the same location as Consumers. Just like the current
service, there will be no expectations that Prescribers will have to determine
the structural integrity of the home that is being modified as this is the role
of Builders, Draftspersons and Architects. The new model will provide greater
capacity for Prescribers to address the functional and clinical needs of
Consumers in relation to their home environment.

SWEP Communique - Website Portal & administration access
12 May 2017
Since
SWEP went live with the website portal in July 2016, we have received feedback
in relation to Allied Health Assistants being able to have access also.
SWEP
are pleased to announce that we have set up a SWEP administration registration. This will allow Allied Health Assistants
access to SWEP prescription forms. They will be able to fill them out and submit
to their prescriber, attach documents and review the application online.
SWEP
needs to be clear about what administration access allows. Administration
users are unable to submit a form directly to SWEP, they cannot escalate
applications and cannot replace the role of a SWEP registered prescriber.

missing information. Whilst we are seeking out this information, the progress
of the client's application is inhibited and it will have a status of
"incomplete" in our system.
